Prior to your implant placement

We recommend refraining from heavy drinking and smoking for at least 24 hours before your treatment. By doing so, your gums and jawbone will be healthier and ready to undergo a successful procedure, as well as help you avoid any infections.

On the day of your treatment, you can eat and take your prescribed medications as usual. Any medical issues with the potential to affect the procedure will be discussed during your initial consultation. Therefore, you don’t need to worry about preparations before placing the implants.

Post your implant treatment

Most patients who pay particular attention to their well-being report a significantly shorter healing period after the implant procedure. Therefore, you may want to try and indulge in healthier habits, such as eating a more balanced diet and enjoying light exercise to promote better blood flow, which helps your healing. Every little step towards your health counts as a significant pathway to happier smiles throughout your life.

You may want to avoid any hard-to-chew foods and eat softer foods for a few days after the procedure, and gradually add harder foods to your diet. After the crown has been placed, you can return to your regular eating habits as your implants will function just like your natural teeth with extra strength.
