Having missing teeth is more than just a cosmetic issue that may leave you feeling self-conscious or embarrassed. Problems associated with missing teeth (such as plaque traps, gum disease and loss of facial height) can be avoided by tooth replacement.
You no longer need to worry about missing teeth as we take pride in our qualified implant dentistry. We continually keep up to date with the latest dental technologies that allow our dedicated dental technician team to perform a variety of dental implant treatments.
Dental implants are used to support one or several teeth, depending on your needs. Here at our Maidstone & Chatham clinics, we use endosseous dental implants made from titanium, which is an incredibly durable material. They are designed to replicate a natural tooth root accurately. However, to have implants you must have a healthy jawbone to be able to support the implant.
Once the dental implants are in place, they will feel and function just as your natural teeth do, providing you with improved aesthetics and full function.
Before you come in for your implant treatment, we will provide you with a thorough consultation to ensure an accurate and precise diagnosis. We will discuss your suitability for the procedure, the process itself and answer any questions you might have. This will help us to deliver an effectively planned treatment for your individual circumstances.
In our dental laboratory, we use advanced dental technology to create implants to fit your individual needs (this involves CT scans, measurements and photographs). This allows us to provide you with precise and predictable results.
You don’t have to worry about pain or discomfort as we will administer a local anaesthetic prior to the treatment. If you are a nervous patient and suffer from dental anxiety, we can also offer IV sedation, as well as oral or inhalation sedation.
It’s a fun fact that dental implants have been around for ages and have been recorded in archaeological digs where skeletons were found with materials inserted into the jawbone. However, technology has certainly advanced significantly since then. The beginning of modern dental implantology began in the 1960s. In the last few years, dental implant technology has come a long way, and implants are now considered to be an effective tooth replacement solution.
